Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots/Cutscenes

Cutscenes
Make no mistake. This game is the largest cinematic experience you've probably ever had in a video game. There are EIGHT HOURS AND THIRTY-ONE MINUTES of cutscenes in this game, give or take a couple minutes. This is not a figure I got off the internet. I played through the game with a stopwatch and timed them all.
I define a “cutscene” as a piece of the game where you get to watch a “film” telling you about the story. Usually, you don't have any control over the characters in it; you just watch.
I count Mission Briefings in this. Despite the player sometimes being able to control Metal Gear Mk. II, the purpose of these scenes is to expand the story.
Most of them are skippable, others are not. I timed right up to the point you can “play”, so scenes where the camera is orienting itself to the player's position are counted. These only add a couple minutes to the total or course, but I thought I'd disclaim it anyway.
During most of the cutscenes, a button command may appear on the upper left or right of the screen. If “L1” flashes in the upper left corner, hold that button to see through Snake's eyes for that moment. If an “X” appears in the upper right, tap it to see small flashbacks of previous iterations of characters or events. Neither of these is necessary, but catching them can net you some “Flashbacks Watched” Drebin Points at the end-of-act summary screen.
